PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian died after suffering a heart attack while transiting at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok on Monday.
Malaysian ambassador to Thailand Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah said the man, from Kedah, was pronounced dead at a hospital in Bangkok at 12.26am on Aug 10, Bernama reported.
He said the victim had been travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Hokkaido, Japan, when he suffered a heart attack during transit.
“The victim was brought to a hospital in Bangkok before the death certificate was issued, confirming that he died of a heart attack,” he was quoted as saying.
“The victim’s remains were claimed by family members who were on the same flight.”
He said all paperwork was completed yesterday evening with assistance from the embassy, before the victim’s remains were taken home via the Bukit Kayu Hitam land crossing.
Wan Zaidi said the remains arrived in Malaysia at about 10am today.
