PETALING JAYA: Pahang Barisan Nasional wants the unity government with Pakatan Harapan to continue until the 16th general election, says state BN chairman Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
Wan Rosdy, who is also the menteri besar, said the state leadership would continue to focus on its responsibilities and the people’s well-being, Bernama reported.
He said Pahang BN was also open to working with any party ahead of GE16.
“We will discuss it (cooperating with other parties). I hope we (the unity government) can remain together until GE16,” he was quoted as saying after officiating an event at Wisma Sri Pahang in Kuantan today.
Wan Rosdy, who is also the Pahang Umno chief, had previously said Umno is open to cooperating with any political party, including PAS, in the state if it benefits the people.
After the 15th general election, BN and Perikatan Nasional each won 17 seats, while PH secured eight, resulting in a hung Pahang assembly with no party able to form the state government on its own.
BN subsequently partnered with PH to form the state government, and Wan Rosdy was reappointed the menteri besar for a second term.
