SHAH ALAM: Mahkamah Sesyen di sini mendenda seorang pengawal keselamatan RM40,000 yang mengaku bersalah melakukan kekejaman terhadap seekor kucing bulan lalu.
Hakim Nor Hasniah Razak memerintahkan Arman Shah, 33, menjalani hukuman penjara 15 bulan, jika gagal membayar denda itu.
Warga Nepal itu didakwa menganiaya seekor kucing di tingkat empat sebuah blok pangsapuri di Kota Kemuning pada tengah malam 15 Nov lalu.
Dia didakwa mengikut Seksyen 29(1)(a) Akta Kebajikan Haiwan 2015, yang membawa hukuman penjara maksimum tiga tahun, denda sehingga RM100,000 atau kedua-duanya, jika sabit kesalahan.
Menurut fakta kes, seorang wanita yang baru meletakkan keretanya ternampak tertuduh memegang seekor kucing dengan seluarnya ditanggalkan dan melakukan perbuatan seksual terhadap haiwan itu.
Suaminya yang turut menyaksikan kejadian itu kemudian menegur Arman. Selepas ditegur, dia memakai semula seluarnya dan mencampak kucing terbabit dari tingkat empat, sebelum melarikan diri ke unitnya. Wanita itu sempat merakam video selama 48 saat.
Ujian forensik menemui bulu kucing pada pakaian Arman yang dirampas polis.
Arman, yang mewakili dirinya di mahkamah, memohon dendanya dikurangkan atas alasan ingin pulang ke Nepal untuk menjaga ibunya yang sakit.
Timbalan Pendakwa Raya Nurul Sofea Jaysal membantah permohonan itu dan menyifatkan perbuatannya “melampau dan kejam” serta memohon hukuman berat dikenakan.
Arman sedang menjalani hukuman penjara empat bulan kerana separuh bogel di tempat awam dan memasuki Malaysia tanpa dokumen sah.
